Independence of The Judiciary Threatened: Mechanism to Destroying Democracy

Staunch Trump supporter U.S. Representative Jim Jordan (defended Trump during impeachment inquiries, supported overturning the 2020 election results, and who received the Medal of Freedom from Trump), chairs the House Judiciary Committee. He said in an interview impeachment of judges who issue "stupid rulings thwarting President Trump" is "on the table." Impeachment is a mechanism to remove a judge or justice who commits serious criminal or ethical misconduct, it is not a mechanism for removing judges who issue unfavorable rulings. According to one news source, Republican lawmakers are targeting the following judges for impeachment: Paul Engelmeyer (limited DOGE's access to sensitive Treasury data), John Bates (ordered the Trump administration to restore health agency webpages), Amir Hatem Mahdi Ali (ordered the Trump administration to temporarily reinstate foreign aid funding) and John McConnell, Jr. (ordered the Trump administration to lift its federal spending freeze). The United States Constitution sets up three independent branches of government to best serve the American people. Our Supreme Court justices take two oaths when sworn in. The first is the Constitutional oath: "I, _________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God." The second is the Judicial oath: "I, _________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon me as _________ under the Constitution and laws of the United States. So help me God." Neither oath refers to blind allegiance to a President. This goes without saying or should. The oath the President takes is found in Article 2, section 1, clause 8 of the Constitution: I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Democracy falls when the President, its judges and legislators fail to abide by their Consitutional oaths. It's pretty obvious the Supreme Court has been issueing decisions against their oath- connections to the wealthy and Trump's desires appear to be more important than their oaths in many unfortunate decisions as of late. The Supreme Court of the United States has given Trump favorable rulings in 90% of cases.
