Trump- the Disaster Years

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is a U.S. federal agency under the Department of Health and Human Services. Its job is to protect the public's health. The Trump administration fired the CDC Director Dr. Susan Monarez this week . Why? According to her, she "refused to rubber stamp unscientific, reckless directives." In other words, she believed in the science of vaccines and protecting people. White House Director Karoline Leavitt explained to the press Dr. Monarez was "not aligned with the President's mission." Scientists join the CDC to implement good and legitimate science (eg. the polio vaccine has reduced occurrences of polio in the 21st century by 99% ). Russia invaded a sovereign nation, Ukraine. Russia had no proper legal justifications or rights in doing so. Many have been murdered and maimed. Yet, President Trump aligns with the authoritarian Russia dictator Vladimir Putin. No rational soul can legitimize Russian's action. Trump falsely claimed Ukraine started the war . When Trump unilaterally issued tariffs on most the world, missing was Russia . In January 2025, Trump threatened he would levy sanctions against Russia. Repeated empty threats continue.
